About Steel City Biddy Basketball
Northwest Indiana's Premier Youth Basketball and Cheer League for Ages 5–14.
More Than a Game
Steel City Biddy Basketball is a youth basketball and cheer league in Gary, Indiana, established in 2009. We serve boys and girls ages 5–14, focusing on teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.
Our programs provide a safe, structured, and competitive environment where young people develop basketball skills alongside life skills that will serve them forever. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to play, grow, and succeed.
Our Core Values
Teamwork
We teach young athletes that success comes from working together, not alone.
Leadership
Every player learns to lead with confidence, humility, and respect.
Sportsmanship
Win or lose, our athletes represent themselves and Gary with honor.
Opportunity
Every child deserves the chance to play, grow, and succeed.
From Midtown to Steel City
Midtown Biddy Basketball
The league started as Midtown Biddy Basketball, giving Gary kids a place to learn the game.
Steel City Biddy Basketball
Terrilyn Johnson and Reggie Ammons took over the league and rebuilt it as Steel City Biddy Basketball, a program of Steel City Group, Inc.
Season 2026
Terrilyn and Reggie still lead the league, now with a full volunteer board. Steel City serves boys and girls ages 5–14 in basketball and cheer.
