Steel City Biddy Basketball prioritizes a structured, fair, and enjoyable environment for young players. Our rules and regulations are tailored for each age division, from our 5 & 6 age division up through the 13 & 14 age division, to ensure safe, developmental, and competitive play. Each division has specific guidelines on quarter times, scoring limits, ball sizes, rim heights, and defense restrictions, such as rules on pressing and time limits in the lane. For instance, younger divisions have shorter quarters, lowered rims, and limits on defensive pressure, while older groups are gradually introduced to more complex aspects of the game.
Why Review the Rules?
For both parents and coaches, understanding these rules is essential to support players’ growth in a positive way. Familiarity with the regulations allows coaches to strategize effectively within the game’s framework, promoting skill development and fair play. Parents who review the guidelines can better understand game flow, cheer their child’s progress, and support the learning process, creating a cooperative and supportive community for young athletes.
